world overview

____ is a vast world that was once created and ruled by a God and a Devil. It contains various kinds of species(?), that can be categorized as the following: angels, demons, humans, mythics, fairies, and monsters*. Initially, the God, Devil, and their followers (angels and demons respectively) despise one another, but that eventually comes to a pass and all inhabitants of the world live with one another harmoniously. However, after the _____ War that eventually led to the “death” of both their God and Devil, the world becomes separated into multiple Realms by magical Barriers created by the God based on the categories of the species. These Barriers are untraversable, for the most part. Due to its nature of requiring a constant supply of magical energy, its ability fluctuates, leading to individuals sometimes being able to cross over to another realm both unintentionally, and intentionally.

The world quickly fell into chaos upon the disappearance of their God and Devil. Both the God and Devil’s gem-like “heart” that stores their core powers–birth and destruction, respectively–are broken apart into small pieces called "Fragments" and scattered throughout the world as a result of their “death.” With now no real ruler in the land, there is a fight for power, especially among the demons. Many demons seek out the Fragments of their late Devil in hopes of strengthening themselves through any means necessary, including terrorizing other realms. The God’s trusted angels on the other hand were given instructions prior to their leader’s “death.” They are to surveil and protect the remaining realms, excluding the demons, and to leave the God’s Fragments alone. In order to minimize the chaos the demons are causing, the angels created a pseudo-Barrier to contain them. However, as this Barrier is not created by the God themselves, it is the weakest of them all.

As that is happening, the different realms begin to forget the existence of the cohabitants of the world and their once good relationship with one another.

*Honestly, I only properly built the angels, demons, and monsters realms so far and I only have a vague idea about the other realms, so these are not the final categories.

World History/Timeline

Creation

The “God” and “Devil” were born. They were both born from the same gem, which is later broken into two. This gem serves as their core or heart, though the nature of their powers differ. The God’s core is to create and nurture, whilst the Devil’s core is to destroy. Although that is the case, the God and the Devil are capable of both creation and destruction.
The God first created seven angels who were considered, to this day, their most “perfect” creations and thus are their most trusted angels. They later came to be known as The Seven. The Devil too created something of a similar caliber, but instead of seven, three demons were born. These demons are referred to as The Elite Three.
They did not bother one another at first, until their differing ideologies began to clash.

War 1

Due to the God and Devil’s clashing ideologies, they ended up despising one another, thus resulting in a war in an effort to drive the other out of their beloved world.
Although they both did not have a large army at the time, this war still managed to last for 100 years.
The war came to an end after the God and Devil learned to accept each other, and came to an understanding that their very existence is reliant on one another.

Peace Period (lol idk)

The God and Devil, along with their creations, lived with one another harmoniously and ruled over the world as equals.
Both the God and Devil continued to create more species. Humans were the God’s last and favorite creation.
As the God and Devil grew closer to one another, the cruel and almighty Devil slowly became softer
This peace lasted for several centuries before an external threat took it all away

War 2

A power-hungry foreign God threatened the God and Devil to hand over their world to them. Of course, the God and Devil refused, resulting in an all-out war with the intruders in order to protect their beloved world.
All of the God’s and Devil’s creations came together to protect their home, resulting in countless deaths on all sides. One of the biggest losses was one of The Seven.
In order to end the war once and for all, the God killed the foreign God, at the cost of their life. Upon their death, their “heart” was broken into tiny pieces, which were later known as Fragments, and scattered all over the world.
There were a number of preparations that the God did prior to their untimely death. Being aware of their end, they did all they could to ensure a stable future for their world as much as possible. Firstly, the God created the Barrier as a means of protection, especially for the weaker species, from the intruders, resulting in the various different Realms. Secondly, they brought upon their final creation–a new angel of the same caliber as The Seven–to replace the one that fell during the war and to stabilize the situation among the angels. Finally, they appointed one of The Seven to take their place, granting them the Eyes of God, along with having the angels surveil and protect the realms, but excluding the demons’ realm due to an old agreement.

Post-war

With the God having disappeared and the world being separated into different “Realms,” the world attempted to slowly recover from this loss and adjust to this change.
The Devil became what could be described as an empty shell upon the death of their other half, but still does their best to govern over their “Realm,” the realm of monsters and demons. Due to being close and spending time with the God, the Devil changed their ways and sought to treat everyone with kindness. This, however, is deemed as a weakness in the eyes of The Elite Three. Believing that the Devil was no longer fit to be their leader, they struck the Devil down, and just like that, the world lost both their leaders. The “death” of the Devil too resulted in their “heart” breaking into Fragments that scattered throughout the world.
With the death of the Devil, their signature weapon, Awasaan, the Sword of the End, was left behind and came under the possession of The Elite Three. The new rulers then closed off the realm of monsters and demons completely from the outside world. No one, including the angels, was aware of what went on within, until several decades later, when the ruler of this realm was overthrown once more.

War 3

All of the members belonging to The Elite Three were killed by a mysterious demon that later became the realm’s new ruler. After gaining the position and acquiring the Sword, he quickly became corrupted by it, transforming him into an unstoppable, power-hungry demon that was more violent than any of The Elite Three could ever be. In search for greater power, he and his followers search for the Devil’s Fragments, terrorizing other realms in the process, with the monsters taking the most damage from it all.
To prevent further damage to other realms caused by this new leader, the angels fought back in an attempt to contain them. The war was mostly between the angels and demons, both sides taking quite severe damage, especially with the angels losing three of The Seven to the war.
The angels were successful in the end. They created a pseudo-Barrier, birthing a new realm to contain the demons within, making the monsters/demons realm now two separate ones. Despite this Barrier being the weakest of them all, the demons retreated into their new realm. Not much about the demons has been heard since, besides the now more discrete hunt for the remaining Fragments.
